Winners Rolling In For Norris/Huntingdon

It's been pleasing to see a good run for Norris/Huntingdon purchases of late.

Via Serendipity, a horses-in-training sale graduate bought for Happy Valley Racing & Breeding, earned more than £40,000 in a week when running second at Chelmsford and following it up four days later with a win at Sandown.

He is trained by Stuart Williams, as is Restless Rose (pictured here as a yearling) whom we bought for the same owners and who won a decent fillies’ handicap in the same week.

A particularly exciting result was the first-time-out win of Miss Celestial, and Exceed And Excel two-year-old bought for John Pearce Racing from the Ballymacoll Stud Dispersal. If her racecourse debut is anything to go by, she looks a very interesting prospect.

Over in France, it was great to see the statuesque Dabirsim filly Palnyra win on her second start for John Paterson and Henri-Francois Devin. She was another yearling purchase, one of two bought from the Arqana October Sale two years ago, both of whom are now winners.

We’ve used Dabirsim for my own mares ever since he retired to stud and it was great to be able to see a two-year-old we bred on a recent trip to Chantilly. Named Dolcetto, he is now in training with Fabrice Chappet and I’m looking forward to seeing him on the track this season, especially as we are selling his yearling half-sister by Rajsaman at the Tattersalls December Sale.

We’ll be packing the wagon and heading to Newmarket soon for the July Sale, where we will be selling two mares and hoping to buy another horse in training for a regular client. With a mare in foal to Night Of Thunder, I’m looking forward to seeing him again at the Darley Stallion Parade, which is always one of the highlights of July Week.
