Back on the road to Goffs and Tatts
Jenny is on her travels to the Goffs Orby Sale on Friday with a Showcasing colt and two fillies by Gio Ponti and Raven's Pass. It's a manic time of the year for all sales consignors and as soon as Jenny is back from Ireland she'll be repacking for Newmarket where we have 31 yearlings to sell across the two weeks from Books 1 to 4.
It's been a good spell for our graduates in the last month. Glorious Journey, who topped Book 1 two years ago, won his second Group 3 in France, and another of Philippa Cooper's horses sold that year, Hareeq, won his maiden on debut for Sir Michael Stoute and Al Shaqab Racing.
Other graduates to have won recently on debut include Canvassed (pictured), a colt by Shamardal sold on behalf of Dayton Investments Limited, who scored very impressively for Roger Varian and Sheikh Mohammed Obaid, and Promote, a Dandy Man two-year-old sold on behalf of Ballyhane Stud to Saeed Manana and James Tate.
Of course we don't just sell yearlings and from our foal draft of 2016 was an Oasis Dream colt bred by Philipp and Marion Stauffenberg who is now named Catan and won on his second start for Roger Charlton.
On the purchasing front, Liam and William have also had plenty of success on the track this season. It was terrific to see Miss Celestial win so well at Brighton for John Pearce Racing, and Via Serendipity has also been a great flag-bearer for Happy Valley Racing & Breeding with three wins on the board. Both horses are entered this weekend at Newmarket, in the G2 Rockfel Stakes and the Cambridgeshire respectively. We wish all their connections the best of luck.
We look forward to showing you our drafts at Goffs and Tattersalls. You can read a bit more about us in the Rcaing Post sales supplement by clicking here.
